A Founding member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Dr Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe has said that the Akufo-Addo government has been plagued with series of corruption for which Trade Minister Alan Kyerematen should have resigned.

Dr Nyaho-Tamakloe said he would have followed Mr Kyerematen if he had had the courage to resign from the current government that in is view, has been neck-deep in series of corruption scandals.

Speaking in an interview with TV3’s Johnnie Hughes, he said “The Alan case, Alan is a nice gentleman but politics you don’t use nice gentleman to do politics. You will need people who are strong, people who can say this is it, I stand by it.

“We have had series of corruption cases in the government in which Alan is a member. If Alan had resigned, I would have followed him anywhere, he did not have the courage to do so and as such, I don’t see him as a leader.”

In the case of Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, Dr Nyaho-Tamakloe said the structure of the NPP will make it difficult for him to be the flagbearer and eventually, President of Ghana.

He said he has known Dr Bawumia for quite some time and can attest to the fact that he is a fine gentleman however, the NPP will make it difficult for him to achieve his ultimate ambition of becoming Head of State.

“I did an interview, it was with a foreign magazine, I will find out if I still have it, I will share with you, where I made plain that by the structure of our party, Bawumia cannot come to power.

“Bawumia is a fine gentlemen, if Bawumia would have had that independent mind and strength and not just always praise what the president has done or has not done, I would have looked at him differently, I know Bawumia very well..”

  1. Name: Kofitse Gbewonyo says:

This man talks with bitterness in his heart, I do not think Abronye DC Jr is more matured in politics than you, When Abronye saw some corruption in the MPs who doubled as ministers in the previous administration, he has taken it up to the supreme court. We have EOCO,CHRAJ,CID, the Special Prosecutor, the Courts, gather your evidence and challenge the government. Do not denigrate yourself by towing down to the allegations by the NDC. Anyway I do not expect you to like the NPP more than the NDC because Ibrahim Mahama is your nephew. Adepa wo fie a eye.

  2. Name: NDC LIARS says:

Look at him too, disappointed NPP member. Who take Nyaho serious!

  3. Name: Sena Ahiabu says:

i do not know if this man is loosing mind, can you compare the current government to the NDC. Anyway, Ibrahim Mahama is your nephew and you benefited from them. You are an elderly statesman if you find any corruption going on and if have evidence, there are EOCO,CHRAJ, the Special prosecutor, the courts, go there and stop behaving like a child. Allegations upon allegation, as they did in 2008 will not work this time. Provide documentary evidence as Yoyome, bus branding, GEED, MASLOC,ISOFOTON ETC Brohaha about the Cathedral, building property in the country is better than giving cars to celebrities.

  4. Name: Mere Speculation says:

If you don't have anything to say, please shut up. You talk about corruption without pinpointing the exact corruption-related issue. This is a hearsay propagation to disgrace yourself. If you have any evidence to show relating to corruption in the government, please be bold to point it out and that will let people known that you are not peeved. Not just sit down and speculate. Are you impugning, therefore, the Allan is a corrupt person? Or what are you trying to say.
