Mr Carlos Kingsley Ahenkorah, the Member of Parliament for Tema West, has expressed optimism over the New Patriotic Party’s victory in 2024 irrespective of the presidential candidate it will field.
In an interview with the Ghana News Agency in Tema, Mr Ahenkorah maintained that no matter the background of the presidential candidate, the NPP would win the election.
“I think that the NPP will do well and will win the 2024 presidential election wherever we pick our candidate from. I am confident about that. It is the National Democratic Congress (NDC) that is panicking and trying to play ethnic politics. I am not surprised because that has been their stock in trade,” he said.
He said the NDC liked to play Ghanaians against one another to remain afloat and relevant, adding: “We don’t do that in the NPP. We are not looking at the NDC to determine what we do. They are the ones studying us."
Mr Ahenkorah, a former Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry, said with the massive support the party enjoyed from majority of Ghanaians, there was no way it would lose the 2024 elections.
He charged party members to be ambassadors and conduct themselves in a manner worthy of promoting and marketing its aims and objectives across the country.
He urged the supporters to remain steadfast, fair, and ensure justice and equity in their dealings with one another as a mark of exemplary leadership and called for all hands-on deck to achieve victory.

Hahahaaaa, were you not the one who snatched ballot papers in parliament and like Usain Bolt took to your heels? That alone should have told you the NPP is in trouble. If you know the level of disappointment in NPP supporters at the grassroots you won't be saying this. The interesting thing is that some appointees in the current government don't have a child or children who are 18 years and above, i.e. The minimum age to qualify to vote in Ghana and these are the people shouting ' break the 8'. So who's 18 year old and above child are you banking your hopes on to waste his or her precious time to go and queue to vote for you to win and come and take everybody for granted. Carlos Ahenkorah, you have a son old enough to stand as a party agent at the polling station? You think those who have been sacrificing to do this don't have aspirations? Continue to tickle yourself and laugh, you will be taken by surprise. If the current struggles you go through to get bills passed in parliament is not enough a lesson then you won't learn again. For the first time in history the stronghold of the NPP , i.e. Ashanti region is complaining bitterly about their disappointment in a party they have at heart. That should tell you coming events cast their shadows, i doubt whether Akuffo Addo has interests in a future NPP after his exit. It's like all the sacrifices kufour and his appointees made to make the NPP attractive is being dismantled, if your father bequeathed to you a house, if you can't renovate it, at least live it as it is, you don't pull it down, Akuffo Addo and his appointees are using sharp cutlasses to cut the branches of the tree they sitting under , before they realize they would have been sitting in the scorching sun. They can use their positions / power to grab all they can to the neglect of the party foot soldiers, but as to whether their booty can sustain them for the rest of their lives, that one they don't have the power , it's God's. We have seen very rich people who are struggling to feed themselves today, meanwhile nobody stole their wealth, no lady duped them, their monies never went missing, they didn't mismanage but they have nothing today but that is genuine wealth, what about those who are grabbing for themselves what belongs to all, you think such monies can stand. Behaving as if cursed, too bad.
