Peacefmonline.com can confirm that Trade Minister Alan John Kwadwo Kyerematen has resigned from the Akufo-Addo administration.
Peacefmonline's impeccable sources within Mr Kyerematen's camp and at the Presidency say he tendered in his resignation on Thursday, January 5, 2023.
The President is however yet to be personally apprised of the news.
Alan Cash, as he is popularly known, is one of the possible presidential candidates of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP).
What remains unclear is if this resignation is linked to Alan's presidential ambition.
In 2007, Mr Kyerematen made an attempt at leading the ruling party as its flagbearer capturing 32.3% of the votes cast.
He secured the first runner-up position after Nana Akufo-Addo had garnered 47.96% of votes cast.
Undettered, Alan Cash made other attempts at the party’s leadership in 2010 and 2014. But on both occasions, he placed second to Akufo-Addo who won the primaries.
More details soon...

In politics 1+1 is not always 2. I remember when former president kufour brought Allan from the USA as Ghana's ambassador to take over as trade and industry minister, people believed he was brought in to contest Akuffo Addo the preferred choice of majority of NPP supporters then. Allan did contest with Akuffo Addo and lost to him on 3 occasions. What we heard was that he should wait until Akuffo Addo is done with then he will also come, in short he was asked not to jump the queue. Going by the queue it's like Allans turn now, unfortunately a hard working young man appears in the scene having been identified by same president Kufuor as a potential. Today it's like Bawumia has endeared himself to the npp support base so much so that people believe that the button be handed over to him. Anyone who wants a United NPP will wish for a Buwumia/ Allan ticket. The difficulty is who should be number 1. Currently Bawumia is higher than Allan because he's the Vice President and Allan, a minister or former minister. In other words Allan is subordinate to Bawumia, forget about age and who first joined the NPP or who first attempted at the presidential primaries. If it were possible the 1st runner up ( second position) in the primaries should automatically become the running mate . If this fails to happen NPP will go into 2024 with a divided front. Breaking the 8 itself with a United front won't be easy much more with a divided front. People have already taken entrenched positions. That can be dangerous. The caliber of quality and respected personalities in the Kufuor era are lacking in the current NPP. Death has taken most if not all of them away leaving kufour alone. Hopes he comes in with his wisdom since he commands a lot of respect from Allan and Bawumia after all he (kufour) brought the 2 giant elephants into the limelight. It's just that the smaller elephant ( Bawumia) have grown too fast .
NPP is at crossroads. NDC has no problem because they do not have any outstanding candidates to challenge Mahatma. The story of NPP is different. Bawunia, the VP is intelligent and outspoken he is clear in the current political policies. He is experienced in government for 8trs. Ken is no ***barred word*** person needed for new Africa. He is a successful businessman who understands the dynamics of doing business. Alan is a noble human person and highly industrialist and trade manager. He is a gifted diplomat and well vexed in negotiations, which is critically essential in contemporary governance. He has the ability to bring on board the right people irrespective of their political background to get the maximum results to develop the nation. Bawumia is great but he might need to rest. Alan can give him a good rest now for him to refresh himself. The future is still wide open for him. Ken is a great man but he contains in himself the character of both Donald Trump and Paul Kagame.. Ghanaians are not sure which of the two Ken would reflect as president. He is a symbol of "kyakya" a game of risk.. The choice is for Ghanaians but they must pray to God for the right choice.
NPP ***barred word*** aspirants plus Mr Liar make the race funny
Coward G , are you saying that only politicians in Ghana are ***barred word*** ?After all they are paid as you are also paid so why saying things you don't have any evidence to support your claim. Both personalities you mentioned in your comment suggested that you are shallow and myopic . If you(G_) ether young or old must think big and stop the loose talk
Hahaha they npp party that is going into opposition after 2024 is about to blow money like water very soon Ghanaians will soon know where our money’s have been taken to they have stolen all the money for this impending show down between mr cash and mr lair Bawumia the wold will soon see the out flow of money on our streets God help us all
