The CEO of the State Housing Corporation (STC) Nana Akomea has responded to critics who argue that Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia should implement most of his proposed ideas now rather than waiting until 2025.
The Managing Editor of Insight newspaper, Kwesi Pratt Jr., has urged Bawumia to implement his tax proposals now, rather than waiting until he becomes President.
However, Nana Akomea insists Dr Bawumia is not yet the President.
Contributing to a panel discussion on Peace FM's morning show 'Kokrokoo' he stated: "The fundamental point is that no matter what you say, Bawumia has never been President before; that is the bottom line" adding "Bawumia's vision is different from that of the ruling government but he is the Vice President and not the President"

This is not about Dr Bawumia but the NPP government. Ghanaians voted for the NPP in 2016 based on the legacy of the former president J A Kuffuor. There’s no way the people will retain this current NPP in power with the current crop of appointees like Nana Akomea who was sacked during Kuffuor’s regime for non-performance. Now he has the guts to say who is competent and who is incompetent. Ghanaians wanted the NPP out of office like yesterday. Can Bawumia control the party functionaries and the current appointees who want him in power at all cost? That was the baggage that Mahama carried in 2012 when he assumed power after the demise of Prof. Mills. Now Mahama has the power to influence the party and the functionaries so will do a good job given the chance.
Hahhhahaaa.. I used to have great respect for Nana Akomea and thought he was a level headed guy, until they won power.
So ex president, His Excellency John Mahama was right. I like the way you guys like shifting the goal posts position to suit yourselves.
Bottom line, Bawumia has been the VP candidate who won the northern votes for the Prez as you people tell us. Bawumia has been the most "vibrant" VP as you people tell us. Bawumia has been the brain behind successes of the government as you people tell us. Bawumia himself told us that he has led the most solid economic management team to transform the economy in their first term. So bottom line, Bawumia has no impediment to do whatever is useful in this government. I want to believe he gave out his best as a vice president. And so the results of his best is what we are seeing. If he continues to do his best in the unlikely event that he is voted, the current scenario is what we will most likely be seeing at best.
