Vice-President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has stated that he has delivered on almost all his promises, hence the need to give him the nod to lead the country in the upcoming December 2024 elections.
The 2024 presidential candidate for the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) outlined about thirty initiatives he has promised and fulfilled during his tenure as vice president in the last seven years.
Speaking at an engagement with traders’ associations and magazine leaders at Sunyani in the Bono Ahafo Region on Wednesday (March 27)), Dr. Bawumia cautioned the electorate not to make the mistake of voting the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) into power.
He stated that, "I have never been president; I’m just the vice-president, but I have really worked. My opponent has been president before, but I have really delivered on my promises.”
Outlining his achievements as vice president, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia said, “When I said we will roll out Ghana Card, we delivered. When I said children will be issued a Ghana Card at birth, it has come to pass. When I promised a digital address system, it was fulfilled.”
“When I said we will introduce a paperless port, it came to pass. When I said Zipline will deliver medicines with drones in Ghana, it was fulfilled. . . I promised to remove ghost names from government payroll; we executed it,” Bawumia said.
As part of his campaign to solicit votes for the upcoming elections, the vice president interacted with some market women in the capital. He promised that, once he is elected president, he will undertake many projects that will change the lives and livelihoods of the citizens.
He added that, it will be backward to vote the NDC into power come December 7.

@KB, the problems we have in this country are numerous but I think hypocrisy tops them all. With the exception of people who have some genuine natural disabilities and those who have intellectual disabilities, must it be for politicians to convince you about what they have done with the power and your resources that you vested into their care? Do you not live around, do you not see or experience what is happening around you? This state of mental dullness is what drives politicians like Bawumia to lie without any limits. For instance, Bawumia and Akufo Addo benefitted immensely for using cedi depreciation, fuel prices, and orruption scandals to win the 2016 elections, under them today, the cedi depreciation has been the worst ever in the history of the country, fuel prices have increased at the highest ever rate, corruption scandals have been at their all time most horrible to the extent that ministers of state pack stoIen booties in their bedrooms and poly tanks. Then Bawumia swiftly runs away from all these and suddenly calling himself digital man when he hasn't paid any foundation for any digital infrastructure, how's the digital revolution going to survive? Ghana is among the top countries that have the most expensive internet tariffs, how is wider access and patronage of digital services going to happen? Yet there thinkable humans in this country hailing this joke as anything praiseworthy. The joke and hypocrisy need to stop or minimise significantly at some point if we truly want to progress.
@KB ; Are you saying Bawumia is tell8ng the truth? What has you ***barred word*** and comedian Bawumia achieved. A disappointed so-called economist who came to deceive Ghanaians and joined the ***barred word*** brigade. Only those who benefit from the loot will support amd vote for Bawumia and his NPP. This incompetent so-called vice president is a complete disaster, and a total disgrace to economists. KB I want to refer you to only 2 things; dollar-cedi exchange rate and the price of fuel in January 7, 2017 and today April 1, 2024. Bawumia knew he should use both to do politics but he used them to vilify Mahama 8n a desperate attempt to come to power. He can NEVER be president of Ghana.

@Kwasi. You are now speculating about what I said. However, it was so clear to everyone. What is the matter with us? Why are our minds crowded with partisan views instead of being balanced? Kwasi, I said it is good to get comparisons between the two main candidates to help us make a good choice. What are you afraid of? It is a fair and clear comments which should be embraced by all. After all, we want Ghana to do well.
If this is how you deliver, then we don't have any hope under your leadership on the unlikely situation of your victory.
NAME YOUR ACHIEVEMENTS?
@KB, guys writing left and right are all right also. You're also admitting that we can now hold Bawumia responsible for all the happenings in this government. Don't come and dishonestly say that he's just an advisor when the argument doesn't go in his favour.
Guys who are writing left and right..what Bawumia said is true so admit it. We are waiting for Mahama to list his achievements both as VIce President and President. We should encourage such comparisons to help us make a wise choice
Dr. Bawumia, your revelations fill us with awe and terror! If you value our wellbeing, we e beg you, on bended knee, spare us fulfilling the rest of your grand promises. We already been pushed to the very brink of ruin. Have mercy, for we cannot withstand your full, unbridled genius!
