Veteran gospel musician Osei Boateng has sued fellow gospel artiste Cecilia Marfo over copyright infringement.
The musician known for many choral songs in an interview with Franky5 on Hitz FM’s This Is Gospel (TIG) show accused the ‘Afunu Ma’ hitmaker of using his song, “Yesu Ka Wo Ho” on one of her albums without his permission.
According to him, an unknown person contacted him about his artiste using his song on her album but he didn’t hear from him again.
“I didn’t know anything about her using my song but I’ve heard that there is someone called Cecilia Marfo who has used the song. I was talking to one guy about something and he brought it up that his artiste has released an album and she used one of my songs but I’ve not heard from the person again.
I don’t know who Cecilia Marfo is and I’ve also not heard from the gentlemen again” Osei Boateng narrated to Frank5.
He continued that a judge contacted to inform him about the lawsuit he has filed against Cecilia Marfo over the case but he has not reached the gospel musician to serve her with the writ because he doesn’t know her whereabouts.
“I’ve taken Cecelia Marfo’s case to court I’m not even the one who took it the law court its one judge who called to inform me that he’s given me a lawyer.
He’s given me the writ to serve her but I don’t know her so I don’t know where to locate her.”
The musician quickly added that he is ready to settle the issue out of court if “she comes to settle the issue with me amicably”.
Zionfelix.net after investigation found out that Cecilia Marfo used Osei Boateng’s “Yesu Ka Wo Ho” on her “Time Of Worship” album released in 2011.

Hungry judge I guess. Copyright infringement is a big deal, but hey Mr. Boateng, Please think twice and consult God before you take any step. Don't just follow the Judge who is clearly looking for means to fill his pocket. Ask him to give you a copy of the said album and listen to it yourself. That should be your 1st step. I WONDER WHY GOSPEL MUSICIANS DON'T FEATURE ONE ANOTHER IN THEIR SONGS LIKE SECULAR MUSICIANS DO.
This the first I have heard this about gospel songs. Most of them are picked from Presbyterian and Methodist Hymn books. Only few of these gospel songs are original.
Folks, what is wrong is wrong.
I definitely know the ***barred word*** people will insult and spill curses on the man. But trust me this case is a million dollar case in other part of the world. Guys just spend your time to read more about what entails in copy right infringement and stop insulting hard working man.
Master urs be fast m,otion and hers is slow motion so there is difference. Then elder Amireku wil sue Diana asamoah and the Methodist hymn will also sue her cos most of her songs are from Methodist hymns and elder mireku but yet no one sued her. If ur money is finish don't use amicably to settle this for money cos this is not an issue cos an album released 5years ago and u are now talking of it. She even helped ur song to hit again for people to sing it once more
If the Apostles who wrote the bible will also sue for copyright then i don't think we can use it as well, Christianity is different from the world, how many gospel artist haven't used Elder Mireku's songs on their albums yet he never sues anyone. Let's work as a team to win souls for the kindom
