In Gemma Howorths house, theres never any question who does the washing up.
Her husband always gets the job because she cannot risk the slightest damage to her prize assets her hands which are insured for an astonishing 5million.
The 27-year-olds flawless digits have featured in adverts for brands including Fairy Liquid, Cadburys and Rimmel.
Blessed with elegant, long, straight fingers and deep nail-beds, Miss Howorth, who lives in Chelsea, has been a hand model since the age of 15.
She has appeared in more than 250 television ads and on thousands of billboards.
A normal photoshoot earns her an average of 100 an hour, but she can command up to 2,500 a day as a hand double for celebrities.
Her hands have been super-imposed on pictures of stars including Kate Moss, Lily Cole and Kylie Minogue.
She follows a strict regime of moisturising her hands at least 30 times a day, while avoiding fat, sugar, alcohol and caffeine. For everyday wear and tear, her secret weapon for keeping age at bay is a 1.50 over-the-counter bottle of almond oil.
I have tested hundreds of products, and I always go back to my almond oil, she said.
It is the cheapest and best. Some other products dont seem to sink into the skin, but almond oil does.
It really nourishes, and you dont need separate hand creams and cuticle oils.
Miss Howorth studiously avoids household chores meaning husband Marcus Watts has to do all the washing up. I cant remember the last time I washed anything without wearing gloves, she said. Its really bad for your hands. I have a dishwasher, a cleaner and a husband.
She added: I sunbathe with gloves on.
'I forgot the gloves once and, even with high-factor sun cream, I noticed tiny wrinkles developing on my hands.
'Even opening the fridge door could break a nail.Rummaging in your handbag is potentially lethal. You have to open it carefully, so you dont get a paper cut.
The risk of losing work is what prompted Miss Howorth, who also runs the countrys leading body-part model agency, to insure her hands at Lloyds of London.
I could claim on the insurance if I get a paper cut, depending on how bad it is, she said.
If I cut my hand I might not work for two weeks, and that could be thousands of pounds lost.
There are clauses for things like broken wrists, and if one of my fingers gets chopped off, I get a very big payout.
