You can’t carry knives in your pockets or in your hands in public in UK. Simple. Mawuto pls don’t make comments in ignorance. Guns are not carried or sold in UK like the US. The Police in UK don’t carry guns on routine duty (except of course on special duties like the airport police). Everyone knows this and penalties if caught with a knife. Street gangs and more felonies in UK are committed with knives that why the laws are tough on this. There is discrimination in this. We blacks are quick to play the racial card when we perpetrate crimes.
@Mawuto This is a place where the Law works, Pure and simple! The earlier you learn this the better. " I beg, I beg" is not a subject they teach in their schools. Try and teach others and stop playing racism cards.
@Mawuto: The fact that your government allow matchetes knives and axe to be sold on the streets does not mean that is what happens everywhere in the world. there are some places that just possesing ordinary tools without the prerequisite license can send you to jail.
@Mawuto, Hohoe, please go back to school and get yourself a good education
I am not much delved into UK criminal laws but one could easily deduce from the recent spate of increased terrorists and other criminal attacks which might have led to increased police checks on suspected criminals. Because of stricter gun control in UK, homicides and other crimes are mostly committed with knives- unlike US where crimes are mostly committed with guns. My bro Wuta-Ofei knew this law and yet glossly ignored to his own predicament. Maybe Ghanaian citizens living in UK will take a cue from it.
When did knife become a weapon? Come see women selling oranges, pawpaw, etc wielding knives everywhere. People are walking your streets with guns but you can't arrest them.Racial discrimination! Pure and simple
