The call on the Ghanaian government to legalize the herb with thousand names (weed) aka marijuana “obonsam tawa”, “tampi”, “motia chalk” etc by some popular Ghanaian celebrities have been on the rise after some of the world’s greatest nations legalised the herb.
A few weeks ago the headliner of the High-Grade Family record label, Emmanuel Samini popularly known as Samini in an interview disclosed that he needs a permit to grow the herb.
However, another video has been sighted in which the “One Corner” hitmaker, Patapaa was captured throwing more weight on weed legalization.
Patapaa made his statement following the controversial self-acclaimed president of weed smokers, “Wee Fuor Teacher's” call for the legalization of weed.
“In France when a citizen is busted holding a piece of weed, he will be released, God is using Wee Fuor Teacher as an empty vessel to broadcast how good weed smoking is., if I may say it’s not a big deal”, he said.
When asked if he supports the legalization of weed, he answered, “Yes weed is neither cocaine nor tramadol, people smoke weed to learn because it enhances academic performance”.
He advised the youth not to rush into marijuana smoking but should patiently wait for the right time when God shall call them to into smoking.
“Marijuana smoking is one of the callings of God, if God hasn’t called you to smoke, don’t do it until you are called by God”, he said during an interview on SVTV.

Odwan! Look who is talking. Why do we love mediocrity so much? Why is this man given space in our media?what song has this chimp written or performed that should make him comment on issues he has no comprehension of?Can you imagine what can happen if SHS students can smoke weed freely,or trotro mates can smoke it in trotros etc. Let us be very careful what we wish for.
Oh Nana, you call this wisdom? If he want fame, he should come up with BETTER SONGS. God gave us millions of plants that have medicinal values. Why singling out weed? Again the Creator graced us with knowledge and wisdom to transform these plants to medicine, thus the scientist, researchers etc. Where was it said in the Bible that if even you should treat your ailment with weed go and smoke it. Even the smoking practice is harmful. Please give us a break.
Not in Ghana, you can go somewhere else. Weed has destroyed a lot of our youth. Decriminalizing it will cause a lot of chaos in Ghana. As happened in the 70s, 80s and late 90s, people will be smoking it on our streets with such impunity. Please, go to the countries that have decriminalize it and do it there and come back, we don't care. Don't waste our ears with such requests. Nan*sense!
I now know the source of his energy whilst on stage...jahhh rastafariii....selasie I
you are wise Patapaa its strange how many people are just scared of a plant and cigarette and alcohol killing many by the day. Even if the government don't want to legalize they should decriminalize small amounts because the police are making money more than the government. Just a spliff of Ganja could cost a person from 200 to 2,000 Cedis. its can boost tourism people are using marijuana for all kinds of purposes in Ghana now and the psychiatric hospital is not filled with people who have used the plant as its being championed by most ***barred word*** people. The government should take a critical look at steps to decriminalize now and later decriminalize. Blakk Rasta was right with his statement that some of the MPs smoke marijuana its a fact though he refused to mention names. They should run a drug test they will be surprised to know far more dreadful substances than marijuana even the staff and security at the Jubilee House. Marijuana cant be illegal whiles steps are being taken to make gay legal hows is that possible. There are gay pubs and bars scattered around the british Accra enclave displaying all sort of ***barred word*** in the open, why are they not being perused by the police? If indeed its illegal. If indeed Ghana is a religious nation then how come marijuana a plant created by God is illegal? How come? Or we are saying we as humans are wise to question the creation of Onyankopon? Marijuana is a universal plant and all manner of people use it. Lets not forget life is how you make it so therefore the negative actions of a person cannot be used to make a hasty generalization about all marijuana users. Nana Akuffo Addo the leader of Ghana a human rights lawyer kindly take a look at marijuana and consider to make steps towards its decriminalization now and later legalization. Thank You concerned marijuana user.
Please use the acres of lands meant for wee cultivation to grow Vegetables.Wee will make you lazy eventually and ***barred word*** being.
