Ayittey Powers says he will be a fool to lose to Bukum Banku for the second consecutive time.
The two popular boxers are booked to box each other again at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi.
Prior to the upcoming bout, Ayittey Powers had lost to Bukom Banku in a controversial boxing bout in 2014.
The bout attracted huge number of Ghanaians, including distinguished personalities in the country.
The second bout dubbed “Repeat or Revenge”, Ayittey Powers is poised to redeeming himself of the earlier defeat.
Speaking on Nhyira FM, the boxer vowed to stop his opponent before the eighth round.
“This time I train very well and I have to beat Bukom Banku… if I lose again then I am a fool,” he said.
He attributes his earlier defeat to several factors. “The first time you know Bukom did not use the right weight, this time he is fighting in the right weight so I have to win,” he said.
Meanwhile, Bukom Banku is motivated by the reward of Range Rover to defeat Ayittey Powers for the second time.
He believes beating his opponent again will keep him afloat in the boxing discipline in the country.
“I have to show him I am the African Mayweather… I have to drive the Range Rover to Accra. He says he will stop me in the 8th round but I want to tell him 4th round comes before 8th,” he said.
The “Repeat or Revenge” bout will be preceded by fights from young boxers and entertainers including Sarkodie, Shatta Wale, D-Black, Kwaw Kese, Lilwin, Pope Skinny and a host of others.
