Lower division referee Kyei Andoh died from natural causes, according to an autopsy report.
Andoh died a few weeks ago, after officiating in a match involving Gold Stars and Naa Joe United.
The 21-year-old referees death coincided with a severe beating he received from some angry fans in the Division Three game at Bordie in the Western Region a few weeks ago.
His death raised concerns among football faithful, who blamed the young referees demise on the physical attack from the fans.
As a result, the countrys football governing body, GFA, ordered a thorough autopsy to establish what really caused the referees death.
But after weeks of detailed scrutiny, pathologist Osei Sampane of the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, revealed that the young match official died a natural death.
From the autopsy report I have with me, the young man died a natural death, Sampane told Sports Journalist Jerry Kwame Ayensu, who has launched an online campaign to eliminate violence in football.
The Ghana Football Association has said it will take up the funeral expenses of the young referee.
