Nigeria head coach Samson Siasia has named a strong 22-man Super Eagles squad to face Ghana in next months international friendly.
But reports in the local media claimed that ex-international had been summoned by the technical committee of the Nigeria Football Federation to defend the list because of the inclusion of the two players in the squad.
I have defended the list and already the 22 have been selected, Siasia told SuperSport.com on Tuesday.
The gaffer denied that Promise and Okoronkwo were in the list he was asked to defend. Committee never said anything about Okoronkow and Promise. They never mentioned the list until today (Tuesday) so that was just a lie, he said.
The match will be played on 9 August at Watfords Vicarage Road Stadium in London.
Ghana thrashed Nigeria 4-1 the last time the two sides met in London four years ago.
