Asante Kotoko have secured the services of Liberty Professionals captain Michael Helegbe, GHANAsoccernet.com understands.
The optimization of the agreement signed between the player and the club however depends on whether the midfielder secures a deal with Ukrainian topflight club Oleksandria where he is set to undergo trials.
Kotoko will then pay a transfer fee of 70,000 Ghana cedis to Liberty if the Ukrainian deal falls through before the actual contract whose duration at this point is unknown is signed.
Helegbe will also earn a reported yearly wage of 20, 000 Ghana cedis.
The 26-year-old who has had stints in France and Belgium comes in to replace striker Nathaniel Asamoah who departs to join Serbian side Red Star Belgrade.
