Striker Asamoah Gyan scored two goals to hep Al Ain end Al Wasl's unbeaten run in the UAE Pro League with a 5-0 win on Saturday.
Gyan's goals came in the second half to complete the demolition exercise at the Tahnoun bin Mohammed Stadium.
His first was from the penalty spot after Helal Saeed was brought down by Saoud Saeed, the Wasl defender, with the faintest of touches.
Gyan made it 5-0 after beating the offside trap from a through pass off Helal Saeed and poke it past a hapless Mahmoud on 75 minutes.
The Ghana captain has now taken his tally to 12 in six league matches.
Omar Abdulrahman opened the scoring when he picked up a loose ball that failed to be cleared by the Wasl defence and neatly chipped it over Al Wasl goalkeeper Ahmed Mahmoud.
Ismail Ahmed doubled the lead when he rose above the Wasl defence to head in a corner in the 32nd minute.
Alex Brosque powered in another header off Khaled Abdulrahman just before the half-time whistle.
