Galatasary are in talks to sign Nigeria midfielder Mikel Obi who fears the return of Michael Essien could worry his regular first team place at Chelsea.
Essien returns to the English club this summer haven excelled on a seasons-long loan deal at Spanish giants Real Madrid. Mikel on the other had played more prominent roles at Stamford Bridge during this period.
Doubts are however being cast over the future of the 26-year-old following the return of Jose Mourinho who is a known admirer of Michael Essien. Obi played second fiddle to Essien during the first era of the iconic Portuguese manager at Chelsea.
The Nigeria international could be pushed further back on the perking order at Stamford Bridge with Chelsea plotting a summer move for Benfica midfielder Nemanja Matic.
Galatasaray thus look likely to land Mikel who only signed a new five-year deal with the Blues last December with a 13m offered.
