The 19-year-old has been given a call-up by the Dutch senior national team coach and it appears Ghana would have to close the chapter on him.
Dutch national team coach Louis van Gaal has announced his squad for the World Cup qualifier against Hungary on October 11 and it includes Dutch-born Ghanaian forward Memphis Depay of PSV.
Depay has had a fantastic season in the Dutch Eredivisie.
Van Gaal's squad also includes Gregory Van der Wiel and AC Milan holding midfielder Nigel De Jong who is making a return to the team for the first time in one year after he was sidelined through injuries.
Regulars such as Robin Van Persie, Arjen Robben, Dirk Kuyt, Wesley Sneijder and others are all in the squad.
Depay who was born to a Ghanaian father and a Dutch mother is also said to be on the radar of Black Stars coach Kwesi Appiah, but it appears Ghana would have to close the chapter on him.
