Talla Ndiaye of Senegal and Benin's Suanon Fadel, with two goals apiece, are in the race for honours.
Ndiaye hit a brace as Senegal demolished Togo, the defending champions, 3-1 in a Group "B" clash, while Fadel's two goals were scored in Benin's Group "A" encounter with Burkina Faso.
The two hitmen, in an interview with the GNA Sports, affirmed their resolve to grabbing the goal king award.
Mike Akuffo, Theophilus Anobaah, Mohammed Latif and Sulley Mohammed, all of Ghana have all scored a goal each.
