Ghana FA Vice President George Afriyie has revealed that the performance of the Black Stars including under-fire coach Avram Grant would be reviewed by the Executive Committee at their next meeting.
According to Afriyie, who doubles as chairman of the Black Stars management commitee, the Association will seek answers to the poor form of the senior national team that has left the nation needing a miracle to secure qualification to the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
Grant has been largely blamed for the Black Stars poor start in the World Cup qualifiers with just one point from two matches and five points behind leaders Egypt.
The Black Stars have gone five matches without a win and it is being speculated that the former Chelsea manager will be a goner before the the Africa Cup of Nations next year in Gabon.
‘’Discussion of a coach is also part of the game. All aspects, even the position of the Chairman can be discussed. Everybody’s position including management, Players as well as Technical team.’’ Afriyie told Joy FM
‘’But collectively, all of us need to be on top of our game to succeed, meaning that if [George Afriyie] is not doing well and if that is the area that we fall short, why not? I have to give way for somebody else to do the job,’’
‘’If I think that it’s the Ministry who are supposed to provide the needed funds and it is not coming then something must be done, somebody must ensure funds are provided.’’
‘’If the coach is not on top of his game why not?, If the players are not doing well based on some worries we need to identify them, solve them and then we move on’’

Avram Grant has not done anything wrong. If he is sacked today, we will still be stuck with our challenges. The problem is with the lack of creative players who are trained to be strikers up front. Jordan Ayew and Christian Atsu cannot score in serious games. That is the cause of our problems. Avram Grant has little to do with it. From 2012 to date these two players fail to perform when they need to perform and we lose serious games. The intelligent players who are capable of scoring are playing other roles. Kwadwo Asamoah is used in left back. Clearly, he is not interested in playing because he is used in a position he is no comfortable in. Dede Ayew who is also very intelligent and creative has lost motivation. The politics and personal attacks has broken his zeal. Asamoah Gyan is now known all over the world. So everyone marks him. KP Boateng and Sulley Muntari have been exiled by an FA that does not play football but allegedly receive more money from football than footballers. This has caused our team to lack gifted and talented players. We need to face realities and rebuild our soccer system and stop putting the blame on our coaches all the time.
Coefficient dream shattered. They can even roast him who cares. Sika die basa! basa!! basa!!!
