Italian coach, Fabio Lopez, has revealed that he fancies replacing under-fire Avram Grant as coach of Ghana.
The 43-year-old, who is of Spanish descent and currently in charge of Omani club, Al-Orouba, has nominated himself to take charge of the Black Stars should Ghana part ways with Grant.
The Israeli is coming under increasing pressure after Ghana’s recent poor results, including the collection of just one point from their first two Group E matches in the 2018 World Cup qualifiers.
Grant is determined to, at least, stay on through the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations, but the Ghana FA may well choose to change leadership sooner rather than later.
And Lopez is hoping to capitalise on the situation as he touts his credentials in an interview with Accra-based radio station Happy FM.
“I am an Italian coach, I have coached six clubs, I have managed one national team, I think I am young and will be happy to get the national team job of Ghana. I have watched the Ghana team for some time.
“As a professional coach, I don’t want to judge my compatriot, but I think we can improve the technical part [of the team]. The national team of Ghana is a good team but I think they can improve. I know two of the players play in Italy. One play in Torino and also Udinese,” Lopez touted.
Lopez has also worked in Italy, Lithuania, Malaysia, the Maldives and with the Bangladesh national team.

Grant is a clown, licking his masters ***barred word*** and gambling with their money in London casinos
we don't need this man any more
GHANAIANS!!! THERE WE GO AGAIN. WE SANG HALELUYAH WHEN GRANT SHOWED UP!!! ALL OF A SUDDEN IT IS CRUCIFY HIM!!! IT WII BE UNWISE TO SACK GRANT AND BRING IN ANY ONE ELSE BUT GUADIO0LA OR KLOPP!!
This advert is insulting. How can you expect things to change under such a coach? If a former Chelsea coach cannot change things, who can change things? We need to look beyond blaming the coach. Every time things go wrong, we blame the foreign coach. That is racism! Our players in the forward line are not good. We have KP Boateng and Muntari and we MUST learn how to manage them. They were right about the demands they made at the World Cup! The GFA came to give us an explanation in a low voice. And Ghanaians accepted it. Just because top GFA officials came and spoke softly, we accepted it. The mutiny Boateng and Muntari caused is in order. Ask Ghanaian players from Italia 91 Under 17 to today. How many of them have gotten their full salary for their services to the nation? They will tell you none of them has been paid fully. First, they promise to pay you when you are in the tournament. But once it ends, they deduct things and pay you a faction. Some players get 5% of what they were supposed to get. So what is wrong with Muntari and KP Boateng asking for their money in advance? And if FA officials are taking as much as 95% of footballers' salaries, do you expect them to be happy with those who ask for their full salary? Absolutely not! That is why they hate KP Boateng and Sulley Muntari. But KP Boateng and Sulley Muntari are the two players who can take Ghana far. If Ghanaians care for their football, we should ask for serious investigations and bring back those players and stop all this blame of coaches. The coach has done nothing. It is our sub-standard strikers who have caused our downfall!
Infact sack this lazy coach one time
Leave the coach alone to complete his assignment. The scenario surrounding the national team recently has caused the decline. The sports minister's negative utterances demotivated then to lose concentration. The banning of the key players not to play for the national team is a self inflicted wounds. Forgive and forget and manage their egos for we need their huge talents to excel. Players like K P Boateng, Sulley Muntari, Michael Essien [Half fit is even better than some of these midfielders], Inaki Williams, Phil Ofosu Aryeh,Kwadwo Asamoah[when fit][invite some of the Ghanaian strikers in Egypt] Please drop Jordan Ayew from the starting line up.Drop the goalkeeper too. Drop Afful or shift him to no.3 to compete with Baba Rahman. Avram Grant as a foreign coach can manage their egos well well
