Former deputy Sports Minister Joseph Yamin is urging the Ghana Football Association to appoint a local Coach for the Black Stars.
The Nation’s football governing body have already began the search of a new Coach for the Black Stars after Israeli trainer Avram Grant served his term.
Grant was not handed a contract extension after failing to win the 2017 Africa Cup Nations with the Black Stars.
His departure has forced the FA to headhunt for a new trainer before Ghana’s next assignment against Congo in the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
Jospeh Yamin in an interview with Atinka FM called for the appointment of a local Coach.
“I will like the FA to appoint a local Coach, we have seen so many exptraite Coaches come and go, these Coaches come and we pay them huge salaries,” he said.
“But at the end they produce no result, Or 4 Nations Cup trophies all came from local Coaches, we have good and competent Coaches who can do the work.
“We got the likes of Razak, CK Akonnor, Tanko and the rest, even our own Stephen Appiah can take up the job when he go through the necessary training as a Coach because he has played the game at the highest level.”
Former Kotoko Coach Abdul Razak has emerged as the only local Coach to apply for the vacant position.

Joseph Yamin no disrespect but you really look like grilled pork I mean the one with enough fats....or maybe u are toktok, tokubele
Woes for local Coaches is the adopted life style of our players from abroad and bias in selection couple with extraction of money and bribes. Some of the players are principle while others are powerful than the local coaches. Ghana has a big problem to solve. May God see us through.
In an ideal world a local coach would be desirable but that's isn't possible in my opinion, we have not trained anyone capable of taking us to the world stage and until we do so it will be unwise to appoint one.
and who is this fulani and a foreigner called yamin
this foreigner likes to talk everything about Ghana, that he thinks will make more Ghanaian. Mahama appointed so many like him into sensitive positions, now that ndc is not in power many of them have run their original countries.
