The Black Stars of Ghana are out of the Federation of International Football Association (FIFA) Russia 2018 World Cup, after they were held to a goalless draw game by the Cranes of Uganda at the Mandela National Stadium, Namboole, Kampala on Saturday in the World Cup Qualifiers.
The Stars were counting on a positive result by picking the three maximum points, at stake enhance their chances of qualifying for the biggest football festival next year, but this fizzled out after the scorelles draw, with the East Africans.
The Stars could have gone home with the three maximum points, after Richmond Boakye-Yiadom’s long range bounced off keeper Dennis Onyango for Raphael Dwamena to tap in, but this was ruled offside by South African referee Bennet Daniel Frazier in the dying embers of the game.
Prior to this, the two sides engaged in hot exchanges, as action swung from one end of the field to the other.
Both sides created some decent chances, but were unable to convert them, leaving the game barren at the end of the 90 minutes.
Ghana’s coach Kwesi Appiah introduction of two strikers Patrick Twumasi and Dwamena was not enough to fetch the desperate Stars the needed victory to keep their world cup dreams on hold.

Folks, cheating aside, how did the black stars perform on the whole? Did we attached any seriousness to qualify from the beginning or we were complacent?
Ghanaian football fanatics both home and abroad should all join hands and put up a new team The Black Stars of Ghana . The team is too old , very weak and poor peformances at the moment . There are very lots of players in Ghana . We must start to build a new team now . It could take us mostly four years and the earlier the better . We must forget and to point fingers on such and such a person . The first thing to do is to choose right capable organizers ; people who are ready to invest in the team no matter how , to win games . The good richmen in Ghana over to you , come out and to invest in the team to make money by winning games and trophies .
Several minutes during and after the Ghana-Uganda match no updates on this website. Had to refer to the CAF website for latest results. WHY ???? We are testing new players not in a trial match but at a crucial time in the qualification match . WHY ??? Just see the payer lists of Nigeria, Germany, England etc and you would realize the importance they attach to their respective matches. Yes Ghana FA when ??? We have to wait another 5 years to try again.
this is good news for our money. I thank the referees for killing any hope of qualification. I will however support the GFA to go ahead and report them (the officials) to FIFA to be sanctioned like the Ghanaian referee who officiated the South Africa-Senegal game. It looks like those officials were seriously against Ghana's qualification like myself. I hope the GFA takes them on like senegal did but I doubt they will. lazy bunch of ple. by the way I will like to congratulate the boys for their performance. I do believe they will do better if given the chance. time to trash out some of the boys from the team for this guys to show what they got. ple like gyan, dede and his brother must not be brought back to the team bcos they are the ones killing the team. I cant express the joy in heart now. we can now watch the world cup and hopefully with no heart breaks. Do u know Messi's Argentina might not be going too? so i am not surprised Ghana is not going.
This will save Ghana millions
Are you kidding me? Typical Ghana man who is content with mediocrity! If the team is good what did they achieve? Playing good football without scoring will not even win you anything in your own mother's league! Kwesi Appiah is not good and cannot take this team forward! Plain and simple. A coach who can't manage egos is not a coach because that's your primary job. You are not teaching them how to play football as they already know that. Your job is man management and that's why it is called coaching!
What is in the match commissioner's report? Do we have a case to protest? The boys did well. Well done
This team is just good. The players are strong, and play as if they have played together for long. I really love the team. Keep this team. I never felt the absence of the so called Asamoah Gya, Dede. Jordan and those so called big boys who are taking Ghana for a ride.only love to see Atsu
